Bean paste with extras
I love beans and chickpeas! For some Bob King may look just like a traditional soup with pepper roux, but I would say that legumes are an integral ingredient in the kitchen (not just vegans and vegetarians) and culinary experimenting with them can go far beyond traditional notions soup or hummus.
Of legumes almost everything they went - as spices, vegetables, shape and texture. And if sandwich with bean example sounds strange or unappealing, here's a version of my favorite recipes a "thing spreads."
- cooked beans optional
- cooked chickpeas
- sesame
- mint (dried or fresh)
- salt
- olive oil
- lemon (optional)
Boil until completely soft beans or use canned ready, preferably organic. Mix everything in a blender and adding a little fresh water. Grind in a smooth spreadable consistency, about 2 minutes.
Resulting paste can be stored in closed jar in the refrigerator a few days. It can be used for sandwiches, pancakes savory fillings vegetable rolls, etc.. cooled or heated.
Enjoy!
